Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni feels it is "positive" that Lionel Messi stayed at Barcelona because it has allowed the superstar to stay settled

Messi's unhappiness at how the Catalans were being run saw him hand in a bombshell transfer request, before the 33-year-old exclusively told Goal he would be staying at Camp Nou this season.

Ahead of Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Ecuador at La Bombonera, Scaloni revealed Messi's feelings about being in the Argentinian camp and mentioned his relief that the star attacker sorted out his future.

West Brom closing in on £17m Grant

Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant is nearing a move to West Brom, reports the Daily Mail.

The Terriers were originally demanding £17 million ($22m) for Grant but a compromise has now been reached between the two clubs.

West Brom are also considering a further move for Bournemouth striker Josh King.

Romero was close to joining Everton on loan but that move fell through after the Red Devils demanded a fee for the Argentine.
