Patrice Evra Sends Manchester City Fan Liam Gallagher Hilarious Champions League Message

Patrice Evra has told famous Manchester City fan Liam Gallagher that his club will "never win the Champions League" in a hilarious Twitter exchange.

Former Manchester United defender Evra was a pundit for their 6-1 humiliation at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon and his passionate post-match rant caught everyone's eye.

One person who took notice is ex-Oasis frontman Gallagher and he tweeted: "Patrice Evra c'mon you know."

The Frenchman quipped back almost immediately with a message of his own.

"Never!!" he begun. "City will never win the Champions League. So much respect for your music I nearly fight one day with United Player because I play Wonderwall before a game. As you were, PE."

While Evra seemed in a better mood on Sunday evening, the pain in his voice immediately following United's loss on Sky Sports said it all.

The 39-year-old revealed after the match while on the verge of tears: "Alexis Sanchez made a comment when he signed for United, in his first training session he asked his agent to end his contract.

"That's what I am going to ask Sky. I really would like to end my contract with Sky.

"It is my second game, I'm a positive person and I never wanted to talk about United because when you tell the truth it can hurt. I am passionate and I love my club.

"I know you have to have some filter when you talk on TV but it is a shambles."

Evra, who spent eight years at United between 2006 and 2014, continued: "I expected nothing [from this season]. I feel sad, also for the manager [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer]. Now we're gonna start to talk about him, he's gonna be the next one [to leave] - but what about the board?

"Every year since Ferguson, how many managers have been sacked? So that's the solution?

"Every time with transfers they don't go with the right price. It's like [if I go]: 'I'm going to buy a car, I know the price but I'm asking for less.'"

He then added that while not condoning violence, "many people" involved with the club "deserve a slap" for the performance.

"It's difficult to break a man like me, I'm positive.

"I don't promote violence but many people need a good slap in this club right now. That's what I'd do right now if I'm working at the club."
