Port Vale in good shape before Crawley clash
Posted Friday, September 11, 2020 by PA
Port Vale have close to a fully-fit squad available for their Sky Bet League Two opener against Crawley.
Midfielders Cristian Montano (hip) and Manny Oyeleke (hamstring) are unlikely to be in contention to start but made encouraging returns to action with 45-minute run-outs in the EFL Trophy in midweek.
Scott Brown is expected to return in goal despite an impressive debut from new signing Dino Visser in the penalty shoot-out win over Tranmere on Tuesday.
It remains to be seen if winger Harry McKirdy, who signed for the club on Friday, will be involved.
Crawley will check on defender David Sesay ahead of the trip to Vale Park.
The 21-year-old did not feature in the EFL Trophy loss to Gillingham after hurting his ankle in the warm-up.
Manager John Yems otherwise has no fresh injuries to contend with.
New signing Jake Hessenthaler will hope to make his league debut.
