Adama Traore tests positive for COVID-19 and will not join Spain squad

Adama Traore will not join up with the Spain squad after testing positive for coronavirus.

All members of Luis Enrique's squad were tested for COVID-19 arriving at their training camp at Las Rozas, as well as before their arrival.

The Wolves forward is the second player to test positive for COVID-19, with Mikel Oyarzabal doing so before he arrived as well.

Traore will now not be able to join the squad in order to comply with UEFA's strict safety protocol.

He will play no part in Spain's Nations League matches against Germany or Ukraine in September.

This is another setback for the 24-year-old, who had to pull out injured in his only previous senior call-up last November.

Further testing will take place on the Spain side in the coming days as is required by UEFA protocol.

Traore will have another test on Tuesday, which if negative, will mean he can travel to Spain.
