Neymar and Nike end 15-year partnership

Nike have decided to cut ties with Neymar.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been sponsored by the American brand for 15 years.

On Saturday, Nike announced their intention to put an end to their contract with the Brazilian on Monday.

"Neymar Jr will not be a Nike player after August 31, 2020," the brand told Efe.

Nike didn't reveal the reasoning behind their decision to drop Neymar, who is one of the most marketable players in world football.

According to UOL, the breakdown in relationship comes as a result of the player rejecting various new offers from his sponsor.

Neymar first signed a contract with Nike at the age of 13, which was extended until 2022 with a new deal in 2011.
