Manchester United take on Sevilla in the semi-finals of the Europa League tomorrow night and Bruno Fernandes has demanded his team-mates perform.

Manchester United face Sevilla in the semi-finals of the Europa League on Sunday evening and Bruno Fernandes wants his team-mates to learn from other defeats this season. The Red Devils went out of both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup at the same stage.

Fernandes is determined to win his first trophy at United with the final of the Europa League next Friday.

The Portuguese has been sensational since joining the Red Devils in the January transfer window.

Fernandes has challenged his team-mates to make sure they beat Sevilla and then take on either Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk in the final.

He said: "It is time to step up for big players, big game moments. You have to have 100% focus.

"We have learnt it is very painful to lose a semi-final."

Fernandes also admitted he is flattered by comparisons to Eric Cantona but has a lot more to do to be mentioned in the same conversations as the former United superstar.

He explained: "For me it is really good to talk about those names.

"But for me Cantona was amazing player for the club, but I need to do much, much better to be compared to him.

"For me coming to Manchester is about winning trophies. I will be happy if we win the Europa League."

Fernandes also believes the amount of money United paid to bring him in from Sporting Lisbon has given him confidence.

"When a club pays for a player £55million you have confidence," he added.

"All the conversations I had with my coach and my teammates has helped me.

"When you have that voice on your own back telling you to do your own game it is easier for you."

United take on Sevilla at 8pm tomorrow night as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks for his first trophy as manager.

On tactics to beat Sevilla he said: "Score more goals than them!

"We have to play our best game, play out of their press, be clever, be creative.

"Step up in those big moments, these games will be decided on a set-piece of a piece of individual brilliance."
