Borussia Dortmund have explained why Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho is in the UK.

Jadon Sancho flew to the UK on Saturday to attend a friend's party and was captured on video enjoying himself alongside rappers Krept and Konan, who happen to be Manchester United supporters. The 20-year-old trained in the morning before boarding a plane to England.

United have been working hard behind the scenes to put together a package to sign Sancho and were given a strict August 10 deadline.

Sancho touching down in the UK 48 hours before that date sparked rumours he could complete a transfer.

However, Dortmund's director of media and communication Sascha Fligge insists the former Manchester City winger is due to report back to training on Monday.

The Bundesliga side will travel to Switzerland next week for their pre-season training camp.

"It's common and fine for players to go home before a training camp if they're not risky," Fligge said.

"The same goes for Jadon [Sancho]. From our point of view, the pictures that have been shown to us so far do not violate."

Sancho landed in hot water with Dortmund for getting a haircut during the height of lockdown in Germany.

The England international is not thought to have broken any rules with this trip back home.

Dortmund want United to pay £108million for Sancho but transfer expert Ian McGary has explained how a compromise may be reached.

"We reported on Tuesday that United had agreed a deal in principle to meet a €110million fee which Borussia Dortmund had requested," McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast.

"Since then there have been reports that it's €120million, that's not our information.

"The €110m is indeed a fee that Borussia Dortmund would be prepared to accept.

"However, United's payment structure of €80m up front with €30ms in add-ons in regards to things like appearances was the way United wanted to pay.

"Dortmund have asked for €90m up front and €20m in add-ons.

"At the moment there is an impasse regarding that particular structure."
