Sky Sports urged to sack Jamie Carragher after Liverpool icon joins wild celebrations

Jamie Carragher was spotted joining thousands of Liverpool fans celebrating the club's Premier League title win.
Jamie Carragher has been slammed on social media for joining thousands of Liverpool fans in celebrating the Premier League title triumph despite fears of spreading coronavirus. Liverpool were confirmed league champions on Thursday night after Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-1.
It means Liverpool now hold the record for winning the Premier League quicker than anybody in the competition's history.
After the game between City and Chelsea, focus soon turned to the Liverpool squad who were watching the game unfold together at a golf club.
Pandemonium broke out among the players as they partied into the early hours of Friday morning.
Carragher joined in the celebrations via video link to share some words with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
He ended by asking Henderson whether he was going to "get absolutely rotten tonight like me" as he begun spraying a bottle of champagne towards the camera.
Thousands of Liverpool fans stormed the streets surrounding Anfield to celebrate the title.
The celebrations went on into Friday as masses flocked to the city's Pier Head as they flouted advice from the club and local authorities to stay at home.
But Carragher was spotted joining in the celebrations, sparking media outrage with some calling on Sky Sports to sack the former Anfield star.
One Twitter user said: "Carra not setting a great example being at pier head on the cans."
Another fumed: "@SkySports Jamie Carragher with the Liverpool fans a pier head yesterday clearly breaching social distance measures."
A third posted: "Wonder how many chances @SkySports are gonna give Carragher before he's sacked?"
A fourth tweeted: "So Jamie Carragher goes on social media to condem the gathering of LFC fans but evidence Shows he was there with them has to be sacked by Sky."

Another wrote: "@Carra23 I’m sure all #NHS staff are grateful to you for using your public standing to request people adhere to the advice given regarding social gatherings. Sure you clapped them every Thursday also."
Sky Sports have made no comment on Carragher's actions, but a source close to the former England international told the Daily Star that he had followed social distancing protocols.
Carragher's actions though come after Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson called upon fans to stop the celebrations.
“I appreciate LFC fans want to celebrate but please, for your own safety, and that of others, go home and celebrate at home," he said.
“Covid-19 is still a major risk and our city has already lost far too many people to the illness.”
