Chelsea winger Pedro is set to join AS Roma at the end of the season on a free transfer.

The forward's current deal at Stamford Bridge was due to expire on June 30 but he and fellow wideman Willian agreed to extend their contracts in order to see out the ongoing campaign.

However, both players are expected to leave the Blues once the season is over and former Barcelona ace Pedro has reportedly agreed a move to Roma.

Both Sky Sports and Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano are reporting that the 32-year-old will make the switch to the Stadio Olimpico next season.

Pedro is set to sign a two-year deal with Roma, ending his five year stay at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking last month, Pedro gave an update on his future, saying: "The coronavirus situation affected everything, so at the moment we are waiting for a meeting with Chelsea.

"I must meet with the club, but I have offers from many places too. I know that the contract is concluding, but we have not yet sat down to discuss whether to renew and continue here or not.

"I’m waiting for the meeting with the club, but am also open to listening to other offers. The priority right now is completing my contract, then we’ll see what happens."

After Pedro agreed to see out the season, Blues boss Frank Lampard praised both the Spaniard and Willian for their professionalism.

"Negotiations were relatively easy because both sides wanted the same thing," Lampard said. "It was hard for me to comment too much before it was announced yesterday but I always felt confident that they would remain.

"The two players wanted to make sure they could see the season out with us and at this point we need them in the squad because they’re both important players for us so I’m happy.

"They’ve been fantastic professionals for the club and servants in all senses and when you have that level of professionalism within you it was a sign that they wanted to stay and see out this season at least."
