Liverpool could be crowned Premier League champions tonight if Manchester City fail to beat Chelsea.

Liverpool have enjoyed a historic season which will see them eventually crowned champions of England for the first time in three decades, but Jurgen Klopp's side have several opportunities to write their name in the history books as one of the best Premier League teams ever. Liverpool have looked unstoppable this term and it seemed as though they could match Arsenal's infamous 'Invincibles' campaign before a 3-0 defeat to Watford.

Still, this season will live long in the memory of every Liverpool fan as they took the league by storm.

They have already broken a number of impressive records, including the most home wins in the Premier League on the bounce.

They also set the record for most points gained across a 38-match spell in the Premier League (104), surpassing the 102-point mark set by Manchester City and Chelsea previously.

There have been suggestions Klopp may deploy more of the youth players once the title is wrapped up, but the Liverpool boss may have his eye on a few more records to truly create history.

Biggest winning margin

Manchester City hold most records from their impressive 17/18 title triumph and they finished 19 points clear of second place that year.

Liverpool currently hold a 23-point lead over their nearest rivals with a game against City still to come.

Earliest/ latest title triumph

The irony of the football season being suspended until June is the fact Liverpool have the opportunity to win the Premier League earlier and later than anyone else in history.

Given the fact the Premier League season usually ends in May, whenever Klopp's side does eventually clinch the title then that will unlikely ever be broken.

But potentially more impressive will be if they can become the first team to win the Premier League with six or more rounds of fixtures remaining.

City (17/18) and Manchester United (00/01) won with five matches left.

Most wins in a season

Liverpool's win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night put them on 28 for the season having dropped just seven points all season.

They need just four more wins from their remaining seven games to match City's record of 32 matches won.

Most home wins in a season

Only three clubs in history have managed 18 Premier League home wins in a season with none going on to win all 19.

Liverpool have a chance to become the first with matches against Aston Villa, Burnley and Chelsea remaining.

Most points in a season

Possibly the biggest target most Liverpool fans will want to see is them breaking the 100-point barrier.

Only Manchester City have done it before, finishing the 17/18 season on 100 points.

Liverpool have the opportunity to smash that with the possibility of reaching 107 points.
