OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER is urging Paul Pogba to show the same leadership for Manchester United as he does with France.
Midfielder Pogba was an inspirational figure when Les Bleus lifted the 2018 World Cup — but has failed to recreate that form in a Red Devils shirt.
Ahead of tonight’s trip to Tottenham, boss Solskjaer said: "He is a World Cup winner and we want to have that leadership as well.
"He is one of the world’s best so hopefully we can get that as soon as possible."
Pogba, 27, is fit again after a lengthy spell out with an ankle injury.
And Solskjaer believes fans may finally see the best of a player who has largely flopped since his £89million move from Juventus in 2016.
He said: “Of course Paul has had a difficult season with injuries.
“But I can see his mentality and focus now he is fit and training. He is ready to prove he has always had quality.
“I want the same from Paul as from the others — that we give our best.”
But the Frenchman - who had his Rolls-Royce seized by cops for driving with a foreign number plate - may have to bide his time to get back into the first team as United face ex-boss Jose Mourinho.
Fred, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic and Bruno Fernandes all impressed before football’s shutdown.
Solskjaer admitted: “It’s given me, not a problem, but a nice challenge to pick the right players.
“Nemanja, Scott, Fred have had a fantastic turnaround. Bruno also came in with a great impact.
“Paul can only help us because he does have qualities no one else has.”
