Paris Saint-Germain to challenge Real Madrid for Haaland

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed on a number of things in the past, and now they are both sharing an opinion on just how good Erling Braut Haaland is.

The Ligue 1 champions are planning to compete with Real Madrid in pursuit of the teenager's services, just as they battled for the signing of Kylian Mbappe in the past.

Both Real Madrid and PSG have agreed deals for Keylor Navas and Alphonse Areola recently, as well as Jese Rodriguez, but there have also been other deals that haven't come to a conclusion.

Los Blancos' interest in Mbappe is no secret, and those at the Parc des Princes may be starting to worry about where his future lies.

Without a renewal

Mbappe knows his deal in Paris ends in two years, while Edinson Cavani and Mauro Icardi are also expected to be on the way out this coming summer, only adding to their need for a player like Haaland to arrive.

PSG want a player who can come in and become a reference point for their attack and with it being assumed that the World Cup winner Mbappe will move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu sooner or later, they're turning their attention to the Borussia Dortmund revelation.

They're not alone though, as Haaland is one of the most sought after players in Europe.

One year ago his value wouldn't have risen above 12 million euros, but now it's hard to set a limit on how much he could cost.

Having joined Dortmund for 20 million euros in January from Red Bull Salzburg, it appears certain that he'll go for considerably more if he does leave Germany this summer.

A tricky market

The current pandemic presents problems for clubs' finances and that could cause a number of planned deals to be rethought.

Even despite that, a number of deals are expected to go ahead and Haaland moving again is very much one of those.

Real Madrid need to reinforce up top and although Mbappe is the dream, the Norwegian is seen as more available this summer ahead of a future move for the Frenchman.
