Ex-Chelsea star Ashley Cole 'attacked by masked raiders' as luxury mansion is ransacked

Former England defender Ashley Cole was reportedly left unharmed after being attacked by a gang of masked robbers earlier this year
Chelsea hero Ashley Cole is said to have been left extremely shaken following the January 21 heist.
Cole was at home in Surrey during the alleged incident in which high value jewellery was stolen.
The former England, Arsenal, Roma, LA Galaxy and Derby left-back is now a youth coach with Chelsea and a TV pundit, and he could have been with his girlfriend Sharon Canu at the time.
The Sun have reported that the authorities are still are still searching for the gang who were said to be wearing balaclavas and camouflage clothes, with Surrey Police releasing a statement.

They said: “Our investigation remains ongoing following an aggravated burglary in Fetcham on 21 January.
"Burglars broke into the property through the rear doors around 9.45pm.
"The suspects searched the property, before escaping with a quantity of jewellery. They were described as wearing camouflage clothing, gloves and balaclavas.
"An investigation is under way and enquiries remain ongoing.”
Further details of the raid have not yet been released, with Cole opting not to comment on the night in question as the investigation continues.
The event is likely to have been a frightening one for the 39-year-old, who has two children with his partner.
Cole announced his decision to retire after short spell playing under his team-mate Frank Lampard in the Championship, before revealing his desire to go into coaching.
He told Sky Sports: “After hard thinking and consideration, it was obviously time to hang my boots up and look towards my next chapter, which will hopefully be coaching.

"I’m doing a course at the moment. Now I want to be great at being a coach.”
He then added: “As a young kid I never expected to be a professionals.
"So looking back now, to be able to say I played in World Cups, Champions League finals ... being lucky enough to lift Premier League titles is a young kid’s dream, so I’ve fulfilled my dream.
"[It’s been] incredible, to be honest.”
