Newport boss Michael Flynn frustrated by away form

Newport manager Michael Flynn admitted his frustration after a 2-0 defeat against Carlisle.
Carlisle ended a run of one win in nine games at home thanks to an early goal by Omari Patrick and a Josh Kayode penalty just before half time.
Newport were further hampered by the sending off of defender Ryan Inniss late in the first half, his second red card of the campaign.
Manager Flynn said: “Our away form is killing us. It’s really frustrating. We’ve tried every single thing. But you are damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
“It was a sloppy start. We gave a set piece away and all the hard work and preparation is put on the back burner.
“I didn’t think it was a penalty or a red card. It looked worse than it was although I will have to look at it again. There was no two-footed challenge and it wasn’t dangerous or reckless play.”
County had two decent chances in the second half during which their 10 men defended effectively.
Josh Labadie, an early replacement for Matty Dolan, should have done better when he volleyed over from 10 yards and the same player missed another presentable chance late on.
Carlisle assistant manager Gavin Skelton said: “We’re delighted with the win. We started really well and it was nice to go in at half time 2-0 ahead, although we are aware it’s always a difficult score to defend.
“We capitalised on the early goal and gave a confident performance and created some good chances.
“Omari scored with a clean header. He caused them problems and I’m really pleased for him. The goal was a just reward.
“Six points from three games is good form. We showed good spirit to bounce back after defeat on Saturday and our aim now it to finish as high as possible.”
