Notts County climb to third

Notts County came from behind to beat Aldershot 3-1 and move into the top three of the National League.

Kristian Dennis scored twice after Callum Roberts equalised as the Magpies recorded a third straight league win.

Aldershot had taken the lead in the 17th minute when Ethan Chislett’s cross was headed in by Craig Tanner but Roberts responded with a fine individual effort 10 minutes before half-time.

Chislett went close to putting the Shots ahead again early in the second half before Tanner struck the crossbar.

But it was the Magpies who scored next as, seconds after Kyle Wootton hit the bar, Dennis produced a fine lofted finish over Mitch Walker in the 59th minute.

And Dennis made sure of the points eight minutes later as he nodded in Dion Kelly-Evans’ cross.
