Jon Bon Jovi claimed German stars were drinking in a hotel bar before beating Chelsea
Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry smashed a double past Frank Lampard's side, before Robert Lewandowksi sealed an emphatic 3-0 win.
But the Bundesliga champs' performance is all the more impressive considering the fact that their pre-match warm-up apparently involved some Bad Medicine of booze.
The Bon Jovi frontman told talkSPORT: "I was minding my own business in the bar and the team were in there the night before last and how they, on the power of whisky and beer, overpowered Chelsea last night doesn't say much for Chelsea's drinking habits.
'The Bayern guys were certainly sipping whisky and having a good old time and then they went and shellacked Chelsea.
"I'm going to get everybody in trouble."
But it's Chelsea who are nursing a huge hangover, as they face an almost insurmountable task to overhaul Bayern's massive advantage.
The Blues looked punch drunk on the pitch but they sobered up when VAR upgraded Marcos Alonso's yellow card to a red one.
While Jorginho will be also be suspended for the return leg in Munich on March 18 after he picked up a caution for dissent.
Lampard meanwhile singled out Mateo Kovacic as the Blues only player who played like he hadn't had a skinful in the hotel bar the night before.
He said: "I thought there were a couple of performances in our team, namely Kovacic, who played with a personality and a quality that makes you go: 'Okay, he can play in pretty much any team with that level'.
"Other than that we need to say tonight wasn’t a night where we showed that, and that’s on an individual to take responsibility."
