Inih Effiong scored a hat-trick as Dover delivered a convincing 5-1 comeback victory and extended AFC Fylde’s winless run to 11 Vanarama National League games.
Tom Walker gave 23rd-placed Fylde the lead after only four minutes as he converted a penalty after Aaron Simpson handled the ball.
However former Leeds striker Dominic Poleon, making his first start for Dover, fired in an equaliser off the post in the 36th minute and, just before half-time, Effiong ensured a swift turnaround with a goal from the spot after Jack Munns was fouled in the box.
Following the break, substitute Mark Yeates tried to drag Fylde back into the game with a flashing drive that did not quite find the target.
Dover scored next as Effiong missed a penalty but followed up the rebound – reaching 15 goals for the season – after Paul Rooney was fouled in the 72nd minute.
Effiong completed his treble and claimed the match ball six minutes later, with substitute Bobby-Joe Taylor later finding time to rub salt into Fylde’s wounds.
