Teenager Styles damaged ankle ligaments in the home defeat to Birmingham and is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.
Marcel Ritzmaier returned to training on Thursday after missing the last four fixtures with a knee problem.
Goalkeeper Sami Radlinger remains out with a muscle injury and is still one to two weeks away from full fitness.
Middlesbrough defender Anfernee Dijksteel has returned to training as he closes in on a return to action.
Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate plans to play Dijksteel in a friendly next week before assessing his progress.
Daniel Ayala and Dael Fry remain sidelined and are expected to be out for three to four weeks.
Midfielder Patrick Roberts is doing well in his recovery from a hamstring injury but Woodgate is reluctant to put a timescale on his possible return.
