Promotion hopefuls Plymouth will check on Josh Grant ahead of the Sky Bet League Two match against Cambridge.
Defensive midfielder Grant, who has been carrying a calf problem, was forced off during the first half of the draw at Macclesfield on Tuesday night.
Tyreeq Bakinson replaced the on-loan Chelsea man in midweek and could be drafted into the team against a Cambridge side chasing a fifth straight league win.
Veteran striker Ryan Taylor continues his recovery from a foot injury which has seen him sit out the past three games.
In-form Cambridge should have on-loan Tottenham midfielder Jack Roles available again for the trip to Devon.
Roles has missed the past five matches with a back problem, but has resumed training and should be part of the travelling squad.
Defender Ben Coker, on loan from Lincoln, is stepping up his fitness bid and should be training outside again next week.
Midfielder Luke Hannant is sidelined by an ankle problem, while forwards Jabo Ibehre (knee) and Sam Smith (glandular fever) continue their own rehabilitation.
