Luke Molyneux scored one and set up another within 20 minutes of his first start of the season as play-off chasing Hartlepool beat Aldershot 2-0 in the National League.
Former Sunderland winger Molyneux, who was sidelined until January with a foot injury, tapped in Rob Harker’s cross to give the home side the lead after just six minutes.
He turned provider 14 minutes later as his corner was nodded in by Mark Shelton.
Aldershot’s Dean Rance had a shot cleared off the line by Macauley Southam-Hales late in the second half but the visitors could not get back in the game and their winless run extended to five matches.
