Harrogate slipped seven points behind National League leaders Barrow after a 1-1 draw at Aldershot.
The home side took the lead a minute before half-time when Mo Bettamer, on loan from Barnet, cut inside before finding the bottom corner – his third goal in five games.
Harrogate had an excellent chance to level two minutes into the second half when Jack Muldoon found himself through on goal but keeper Mitchell Walker saved well.
Will Smith then saw his header cleared off the line as Harrogate pressed for an equaliser, which they found with 20 minutes remaining.
Lloyd Kerry struck a shot from the edge of the box which beat Walker but neither side could muster a winner.
