Joe Bunney could make his debut for Bolton in their Sky Bet League One clash against Bristol Rovers.
The defender, who sustained injuries in a car crash after signing from Northampton, played for the Under-23s against Sheffield Wednesday last week and is in contention to start.
Ali Crawford and Jack Hobbs have both returned to light training following their respective injuries but are unlikely to feature.
Midfielder James Weir is again doubtful with a knock that has forced him to miss the last three matches.
On-loan Jamal Blackman is set to continue in goal for Bristol Rovers after keeping a clean sheet on his debut.
The 26-year-old has joined from Chelsea until the end of the season following a long-term shoulder injury to first-choice keeper Anssi Jaakkola.
Abu Ogogo will be pushing for a start after he was introduced as a second-half substitute in the draw with Fleetwood following three weeks out.
Defender Josh Hare remains sidelined with a knee ligament injury.
