Torquay held by struggling Ebbsfleet

Torquay and Ebbsfleet played out a drab goalless draw which did little for their play-off and survival hopes respectively.
Ben Whitfield fired wide the best chance of the first half for the hosts, while the only other talking point in the opening 45 minutes was the yellow card for Ebbsfleet’s John Goddard for simulation just before the break.
The best opportunity of the match fell to in-form Torquay striker Jamie Reid with 11 minutes remaining when Jackson Longridge found him in the area but David Gregory pulled off a fine save to earn a point for Fleet.
Torquay remain five points adrift of the play-off places but dropped to 14th in the table, while Ebbsfleet are 10 points from safety after Dagenham’s win against Notts County.
