Northampton will be without defender Scott Wharton for Friday night’s FA Cup fourth-round clash against Derby.
Wharton, on loan from Blackburn, will start a three-match ban following his sending-off late on in Tuesday’s Sky Bet League Two draw at Leyton Orient.
Cobblers boss Keith Curle will also be without long-term injury absentees Harry Smith (ankle) and Shaun McWilliams (knee).
It remains to be seen if midfielder Alan McCormack will be included as he continues to battle back to full fitness following a number of setbacks.
Second-tier Derby may make changes when they visit the PTS Academy Stadium, with captain Wayne Rooney one of those who could be rested.
Manager Phillip Cocu has enjoyed a recent upturn in results, including victory at Crystal Palace in round three.
The Rams will definitely be without defender Krystian Bielik, who will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
Midfielder Max Bird will be pushing to be involved having been an unused substitute in Saturday’s 1-0 Championship win over Hull after returning from a muscular problem.
