A last-gasp Alex Newby penalty ensured Chorley earned a 3-3 draw with Aldershot, but they remain bottom of the Vanarama National League.
The Magpies had took the lead twice in the first half but were not able to hold onto it for long.
In the ninth minute, Newby converted from within the six-yard box but the lead only lasted seven minutes after Craig Tanner completed a quick Aldershot counter-attack.
Debutante Harry Cardwell gave Chorley the lead again in the 25th minute but this time the advantage only lasted five minutes after a Mohamed Bettamer header levelled the scores.
Aldershot then thought they had won it late on after Dean Rance headed in from close range.
However, there was to be late drama as Robbie Tinkler handled the ball inside the Aldershot box. Newby converted the resulting spot-kick meaning Chorley moved level on points with Ebbsfleet in 23rd.
