Raith saw their lead at the top of Ladbrokes League One cut to one point after a 1-1 draw at struggling Forfar.
Forfar moved into a surprise lead after nine minutes when Ross Forbes headed home after a mistake from Raith goalkeeper Ross Munro.
Raith earned a valuable point in the 72nd minute when John Baird headed in the equaliser.
Falkirk climbed up to second thanks to a comfortable 3-1 win at 10-man Peterhead.
Declan McManus put Falkirk into the lead after nine minutes with his 12th league goal of the season before he grabbed his second as he finished off a fine team move in the 24th minute.
Peterhead halved the arrears in the 26th minute thanks to Mark Durnan’s own goal after he failed to deal with Michael Dunlop’s header back across the face of the goal.
David Ferguson was shown a straight red card for the Blue Toon in the 61st minute, with McManus completing his hat-trick with the resulting penalty.
East Fife grabbed a last-gasp point to keep in touch with third-placed Airdrie.
Aaron Dunsmore’s fantastic solo run and finish into the far corner from a tight angle put the hosts into an eighth-minute lead.
However, their advantage lasted just four minutes after Calum Gallagher headed home his 10th goal of the campaign to level for the visitors before doubling his tally in the 28th minute to give the lead to Airdrie.
East Fife snatched a late point from Craig Watson’s 89th-minute header after a Ryan Wallace corner.
Dumbarton’s home clash with Clyde and Montrose’s trip to basement club Stranraer were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
