N’Golo Kante joined Chelsea from Leicester in 2016 for just £32million.

Chelsea have been handed a fresh transfer blow following reports that midfielder N’Golo Kante wants to make a shock £100million exit to Real Madrid. Kante has won two Premier League titles during his Premier League career but now he wants a move to La Liga.

Kante has consistently been one of the best defensive midfielders in world football and rose to prominence after helping Leicester win the league nearly four years ago.

He then made a switch to Chelsea and won the Premier League again in his first season with the Blues.

Kante has also won the FA Cup and Europa League with the Blues, while he was also part of the 2018 World Cup winning team with France.

But according to The Sun, Chelsea are at risk of losing their star player - because he wants to move to Real Madrid.

They are reporting that Kante is after a fresh challenge and thinks that Real is the perfect place for that.

Chelsea, however, will likely have to pay over £100m if they want to sign Kante, which would be treble what the Blues paid for him.

Kante is thought to be close to Real boss Zinedine Zidane, who wants to add to his depleted midfield this summer.

Real have also been linked with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, but it’s thought they don’t want to pay the £150m being quoted by the Red Devils.

In that case, they may fancy Kante at a cheaper price, and the little Frenchman certainly wouldn’t come with the baggage that Pogba could bring.

Zidane is happy with Brazilian Casemiro at Real, but Kante would offer a different level of quality to Los Blancos’ midfield.

While Real president Florentino Perez is reluctant to move for Pogba, he may go for Kante if Zidane wields his managerial influence.

Real, however, are not thought to be the only club in for Kante’s signature.

Bayern Munich and Juventus, two European super-clubs, are also looking to strengthen their midfield and feel Kante would suit what they’re looking for.

Kante, however, would favour a move to the 13-time European Cup winners Real.

In theory, though, Kante signed a new Chelsea deal in November 2018 that should keep him with the club until the summer of 2023.

The former Caen midfielder has had his fair share of injury troubles to deal with this season but he’s been brilliant as ever for Chelsea when he’s played under manager Frank Lampard.
