Man Utd in talks to sign Sporting midfielder Fernandes
Midfielder closing in on move to Old Trafford
Sporting's president Frederico Varandas and sporting director Hugo Viana are in talks with Manchester United over a deal that could see Bruno Fernandes move to Old Trafford this month, according to Record.
The officials were invited to United's offices to discuss a potential transfer for the midfielder, who they vlaue at around €70 million (£60m/$78m).
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have long been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, while Tottenham were reportedly interested in signing him last summer.
Inter offered Mustafi
Inter have been offered the chance to sign Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, according to Calciomercato.
New Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is looking to reshape his squad and is willing to let the 2014 World Cup winner leave as soon as this month.
However, Inter are not interested in a deal unless Diego Godin leaves the club any time soon.
Magpies ready to let Gayle leave
Newcastle are willing to let Dwight Gayle leave on loan this month, but only with a £20 million ($26m) obligation to buy, according to the Mail.
Gayle has struggled for regular action under Steve Bruce this season, making just one start and seven further substitute appearances.
Nottingham Forest lead a host of Championship clubs interested in signing the striker, who scored 23 goals in the division while on loan at West Brom last season.
Fiorentina sign Cutrone from Wolves
Here's more details on Fiorentina's deal to sign Patrick Cutrone from Wolves on initial 18-month loan with the obligation to make the move permanent.
The Italy striker returns to Serie A just six months after moving to Molineux from AC Milan for a reported £16 million ($21m) fee.
Man Utd interested in Jimenez
Manchester United are interested in signing Wolves striker Raul Jimenez and Lyon forward Moussa Dembele, according to Sky Sports.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his forward line after Romleu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez left the club in the summer.
However, the club admit that it will be difficult to do a deal for either player as both Wolves and Lyon are reluctant to let their prize assets leave midseason.
Fulham ready to make move for Terriers defender
Fulham are preparing a bid for Huddersfield defender Terence Kongolo, according to Football Insider.
The 25-year-old will be allowed to leave Huddersfield this month after being told he does not figure in manager Danny Cowley’s plans.
Kongolo has made just 11 appearances this season and hasn't featured at all since a 5-2 defeat at Bristol City at the end of November.
Xavi to Barcelona rumours rejected by Al Sadd
Al-Sadd have moved quickly to deny those earlier rumours suggesting Xavi is set to move back to Barcelona.
The Barca icon has been hotly linked with a return to the club he served with such distinction, with Ernesto Valverde's position in doubt after their 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana.
