Bristol Rovers centre-back Tony Craig scored for both teams in a 2-2 FA Cup third round draw with Coventry at the Memorial Stadium.
The hosts took a sixth minute lead when Coventry’s attempt to play out from the back ended with Kyle McFadzean bringing down Cameron Hargreaves inside the box. Jonson Clarke-Harris netted the resulting penalty against his former club with a low shot down the middle.
Liam Walsh drew the Sky Blues level on 31 minutes with a sweet low drive from 25 yards but seconds later Craig restored Rovers’ lead when he headed in a Liam Sercombe free-kick.
Craig then turned villain, volleying a 53rd minute cross from Zain Westbrooke into his own net to make it 2-2.
Coventry had great chances in the opening minute of both halves but Rovers goalkeeper Jordi van Stappershoef saved from Westbrooke and Matt Godden.
Rovers were unlucky when an Ed Upson effort came back off a post in the second half but van Stappershoef made numerous fine saves to keep his side in the competition.
