Tarpey on target for Woking

Dave Tarpey scored the only goal of the game as Woking boosted their promotion hopes with a 1-0 win over National League basement boys Chorley.
Shaun Donnellan diverted an early Tarpey cross wide and Jake Hyde was denied a penalty after going over in the area after a coming together as the Cards started well.
Tarpey volleyed over from Moussa Diarra’s header, while at the other end Alex Newby was denied by Craig Ross with Chorley’s first opening.
Tarpey was denied by Chorley goalkeeper Matt Urwin when one-on-one and Ben Gerring had his header saved as Chorley held on until the break.
However, six minutes after the interval Tarpey finished off a fine team move from close range.
Matt Challoner played in Elliot Newby but his effort was deflected behind as Chorley failed to find an equaliser.
