Interim manager Anthony Limbrick remains in charge of Grimsby as Salford visit Blundell Park on New Year’s Day in Sky Bet League Two.
Limbrick will check on the fitness of striker Matt Green, who was substituted at half-time on his return from a groin injury in Sunday’s draw at Crawley.
Forward James Hanson (calf) will also be checked but midfielder Jordan Cook is available after returning as a substitute following a groin injury at the weekend.
Midfielder Brandon Buckley, 19, could provide another option after being recalled from a loan at Cleethorpes Town.
Salford are waiting on the fitness of defender Joey Jones.
Jones was forced off in first-half injury time in Sunday’s 4-1 derby win at Oldham after suffering a knock.
Should he miss out, manager Graham Alexander would be forced to make his first alteration in two games having named an unchanged side at Boundary Park.
Striker Brandon Thomas-Asante could continue after following up his first league goal against Crewe with two at Oldham.
