Jose Mourinho transfer strategy
Jose Mourinho has revealed he plans to react in the transfer market, rather than plan to make the first move.
Tottenham chief Daniel Levy told Mourinho there wasn’t much in the way of transfer funds when he replaced Mauricio Pochettino last month.
"Sunday hasn’t changed my mind,” Mourinho said of the defeat to Chelsea.
"I am at Tottenham Hotspur. I know the profile of club, I know the project, I know the vision, I know the objectives and I know that in our transfer market we are going just to react to things that can happen to us in the market.
"Like I was saying if some player leaves we need to adapt to it. But we are never going to be the kings of the market, attacking important targets, fighting with clubs that are ready by their profile and philosophy to splash the cash and to go to the important targets.
"We need to do our things in an intelligent way, a creative way, and I repeat I like the players that I have.
"The more I work with them, the more I know them, the more I realise their qualities and their problems. I keep saying that I need time and this time is arriving. Not from yesterday until the 26th, or the 26th until the 28th. But in January, in February, we are going to have a little bit more time to try to improve it.”

Man Utd request Vinicius swap deal for Paul Pogba
Manchester United have reportedly requested Vinicius Jr in the deal to sell Paul Pogba to Real Madrid.
Pogba’s future remains up in the air despite returning to the side against Watford last week with Real Madrid keen on snapping him up.
And, according to Spanish publication El Desmarque, United are ready to sell him for either a straight £160m or £85m plus Vinicius coming the other way.
The young Brazilian has not hit the heights this year under Zinedine Zidane and has only scored twice - once in La Liga and once in the Champions League.
But United need more options up front after selling Romelu Lukaku and allowing Alexis Sanchez to leave on loan.

Jamie Carragher expects Nathan Ake to Chelsea
Jamie Carragher expects Chelsea to re-sign Nathan Ake from Bournemouth but has questioned whether they can do better in that position by citing the impact of Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool.
Chelsea are believed to have a buy-back clause on Ake, who left the club in the summer of 2017 for the Cherries.
"I'm a big fan of Nathan Ake and I totally get it [why they would re-sign him]," he said on the Sky Sports Christmas Transfer show.
"I think they should [activate his buy-back clause], the only worry is that there is a lot of young centre-backs there.
"He's not as young as them, he's got a lot of experience. But it's not the Virgil van Dijk type of figure at Liverpool that you think Chelsea are in need of to take them forward.
"I think he'd be great buy for Chelsea, he's left-footed and he knows the club as well.
"It's a signing I expect them to make but is he that man to eradicate all those defensive problems they have? They've struggled for clean sheet this season.
"I'm a big fan of his, I've even thought in the past, 'could be be a player for Liverpool?' I think he'd be a really good signing."

Man Utd fear Erling Haaland problems
Manchester United are concerned they may struggle to complete a transfer for Erling Haaland because of Paul Pogba and Mino Raiola.
Both Pogba and Haaland are both represented by the super-agent.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made his countryman Haaland a top target for January as he looks to strengthen his struggling squad.
United are determined to convince Haaland to join before the start of next season.
The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for Red Bull Salzburg, netting 28 goals and providing seven assists in all competitions.
But according to the Daily Star, United have concerns because Haaland is represented by Raiola, the same man who also looks after Pogba.
The World Cup winner is unhappy at Old Trafford and is looking for an escape route preferably to Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane.

Mikel Arteta orders Arsenal transfer
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to make Adrien Rabiot his first signing at the club, reports have claimed.
The Juventus star is currently out of favour in Turin and Arteta believes his midfield is one area that needs strengthening.
According to The Times, Arteta has decided he wants Rabiot to be his first addition (on loan) after taking over as boss in north London.
The Gunners had been in the race to sign him from Paris Saint-Germain last summer when he departed the Ligue 1 champions.
Rabiot spent nine years in Paris after playing for Manchester City in his youth days.
However, he departed the French club on bad terms after running down his contract so that he could move on a free transfer and gain a higher salary at his next club.
Rabiot has only featured in nine Serie A matches this season and is not popular with Maurizio Sarri.
For that reason, he would be open to leaving the club in January and given that Arsenal were potential suitors when he left PSG, it's surely an attractive proposition.

Isco to snub Chelsea
Chelsea have been snubbed by Real Madrid star Isco ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
The Los Blancos midfielder has informed Florentino Perez he will not be moving to Stamford Bridge.
According to El Desmarque, the 27-year-old will snub Frank Lampard in the hope he can secure a one to the Premier League champions in the summer instead.
With David Silva likely leaving City in the summer, Isco reportedly believes he can be the long-term successor to the Spaniard for Guardiola.
And in the hope of securing his dream move he will choose to snub Chelsea boss Lampard who is said to be an admirer of his talents.
