Stevenage hold Forest Green to draw as Westley returns

Graham Westley started his fourth spell in charge of Stevenage with a spirited goalless draw against Forest Green.
Westley’s first game back in the dugout came on the back of Boro’s comprehensive 5-1 hammering at the hands of Crewe last time out.
And the new boss will be delighted with how his side responded to their drubbing by holding Sky Bet League Two play-off contenders Rovers to a draw.
Rovers boss Mark Cooper has bemoaned his side’s lack of firepower up front and those worries will have worsened after failing to break down the bottom club in the English Football League.
Stevenage goalkeeper Paul Farman produced a fine double save to keep the visitors at bay, keeping Carl Winchester’s strike out before denying Ebou Adams from close range.
After the break it was the hosts who had the better chances.
Ben Kennedy was the source of Stevenage’s creativity as Elliott List was denied by Adam Smith before firing wide.
Smith then palmed Kennedy’s strike around the post, while Jason Cowley nodded against the crossbar late on.
