Portsmouth move into League One play-off contention after edging out Wycombe

Second-half goals from Ben Close and Ronan Curtis were enough to give Portsmouth a 2-0 win over League One leaders Wycombe.
There was little between to the two sides in the opening 45 minutes but the home side took control after the break
James Bolton should have put them ahead early in the second half, but his powerful header cleared the crossbar.
The mounting pressure proved all too much for Wycombe, and 66 minutes in, they found themselves 1-0 down.
Close tucked in the loose ball after Ellis Harrison fired against the post six yards from goal.
Portsmouth doubled their lead after good work from Marcus Harness allowed him to fire in a venomous cross from the right for the unmarked Curtis to apply the finish with a deft touch.
A late free-kick from Joe Jacobson skimmed the post late on as they pushed for a way back into the match.
But it was not to be for Wycombe who lost back-to-back games for the first time in the league this season.
