AFC Wimbledon deny new Bristol Rovers boss Garner winning start

Ben Garner’s first game as Bristol Rovers manager ended in defeat as AFC Wimbledon came from behind to win 2-1 at the Memorial Stadium.
The home side took a 43rd-minute lead through a controversial penalty. Abu Ogogo went down inside the box, with Rod McDonald appearing to be the player penalised by referee Robert Lewis.
Jonson Clarke-Harris rifled the resulting spot-kick into the roof of the net, giving visiting goalkeeper Nathan Trott no chance.
Wimbledon’s equaliser came on 70 minutes, when Joe Pigott’s shot hit the near post and the ball bounced across goal for Marcus Forss to net from close range.
Six minutes from time Forss turned provider, when his low cross from the left was bundled over the line by Pigott.
The second half made particularly painful viewing for Garner, who was appointed on Monday to succeed new Mansfield boss Graham Coughlan.
