Antonio Rudiger Racially Abused During Chelsea's Game With Tottenham
Posted Monday, December 23, 2019 by thesportbible.com
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was allegedly subjected to vile racist abuse from Spurs fans in the Blues' 2-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 26-year-old German centre-back was involved in an earlier second-half incident that saw Son Heung-min receive a straight red card.
But Rudiger would later be subjected to racism and was furious with his treatment from rival fans.
The Chelsea defender immediately reacted by pointing to his ear and suggested that fans were making monkey noises and gestures at him.
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta alerted referee Anthony Taylor, who told the pitchside officials and managers about the incident.
And the Tottenham stadium announcer made a public address that "racist behaviour from spectators is interfering with the game."
Allegation of racist remark by a Spurs fan to Rudiger. Tottenham, remember, were the supporters when a banana skin was thrown at Aubameyang.

Antonio Rudiger is currently being racially abused by Tottenham fans, but okay
Chelsea winger Willian put in a superb performance as his first-half brace sealed all three points for Frank Lampard's men.
The 31-year-old Brazilian opened the scoring in the 12th minute before firing home from the spot-kick deep into first-half injury time.
UPDATE: Tottenham have now released a statement and said that racism is "completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our stadium."
The club's statement reads: "Following an alleged incident of racism at today's fixture against Chelsea, the club has issued the following statement.
"We are now conducting a thorough investigation which will include liaising with Chelsea and their players for their observations.
"Any form of racism is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our stadium.
"We take any such allegations extremely seriously and shall take the strongest possible action against any individual found to be behaving in such a way, including stadium bans."
