Substitute Adam Rooney rescued a point for Salford to thwart promotion contenders Bradford in a 1-1 draw at Valley Parade.
Harry Pritchard had given Bradford a deserved lead in the 53rd minute, but Rooney – a half-time substitute – crowned Salford’s comeback with a 79th-minute equaliser.
The result extended fifth-placed Bradford’s unbeaten run to four games, but three have been draws.
The Bantams dominated the first half, creating a string of chances without being able to turn superiority into goals.
The nearest they came to scoring was in the 15th minute when Callum Cooke saw his left-footed shot from outside the box hit the far post and Anthony O’Connor’s rebound shot was blocked.
Pritchard and Ben Richards-Everton also had efforts blocked and Aramide Oteh had a goalbound shot turned away for corner by keeper Chris Neal, who also kept out a fourth-minute shot from Jake Reeves. Kelvin Mellor’s header clipped the crossbar in the sixth minute.
Bradford scored the goal their dominance deserved when Pritchard fired low in the corner of the net from Dylan Connolly’s right-wing cross following a quick breakaway.
Salford hit back and equalised in the 79th minute when Brandon Asante pulled the ball back from the left for Rooney to score with a close-range left-footee shot.
