Ronan Curtis on target as Portsmouth edge 10-man Ipswich

Ronan Curtis was the match-winner as Portsmouth gave their Sky Bet League One promotion hopes a boost with a narrow 1-0 victory over high-flying 10-man Ipswich.
The home side dominated the possession and had the greater chances but had to settle for Curtis’ excellent strike five minutes after the break.
Curtis received the ball on the halfway line and drove at the back-tracking Ipswich defence who allowed the Republic of Ireland international to cut inside on to his right foot and unleash an unstoppable shot that went in off the crossbar.
Pompey had the better of the first-half chances but their best work came in the second 45 minutes, while Paul Lambert’s side did not get going until they fell behind.
It was a physical match that saw Ellis Harrison booked after just 16 seconds and Luke Chambers sent off with three minutes remaining for his second yellow card of the afternoon.
Chambers earned his first booking for a bad foul after 56 minutes and received his marching orders when he brought down Harrison to put any hopes of a Town comeback to bed.
