McGowan makes goal count at Partick Thistle

Paul McGowan scored the only goal of the game as Dundee brought an end to Partick Thistle’s recent revival with a 1-0 win at Firhill.
The Jags went into the game on the back of two straight wins which had lifted them out of the Ladbrokes Championship relegation places.
Kenny Miller crashed a shot against the underside of the bar and Reece Cole also came close as the struggling hosts started well.
But McGowan put Dundee ahead in the 31st minute when he finished off a swift counter-attack started by Kane Hemmings.
Graham Dorrans almost doubled Dundee’s lead when his shot from the edge of the box flashed wide early in the second half.
Miller came close again with a curling shot but Thistle were made to pay for failing to create chances despite dominating for long spells.
