Blackpool pay the penalty at home to Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury secured back-to-back Sky Bet League One victories with a 1-0 win away at Blackpool.
Fejiri Okenabirhie’s penalty put the visitors ahead after the break and it proved decisive at Bloomfield Road, with defeat ending a seven-game league unbeaten run for Simon Grayson’s side.
Visiting goalkeeper Max O’Leary kept the game goalless in the 20th minute after acrobatically palming Armand Gnanduillet’s header over the crossbar.
Shrewsbury themselves went close to taking the lead five minutes later when Jak Alnwick parried Scott Golbourne’s cross to Donald Love, who fired inches wide.
The Tangerines almost went ahead two minutes after half-time when Gnanduillet’s header struck the post from Jordan Thompson’s corner.
Shrewsbury won a penalty 10 minutes after the restart for a handball against Gnanduillet and Okenabirhie hit the back of the net.
Blackpool’s Ben Heneghan should have done better with a free header 15 minutes from the end, while Salop’s Shaun Whalley could have added a second goal before full-time but blazed well over.
