Omar Bugiel hit a hat-trick as Sutton swept aside fellow National League strugglers Wrexham 3-1 at Gander Green Lane.
The Lebanon striker struck twice in the first half before completing his treble from the penalty spot to keep Wrexham in the relegation places.
James Jennings’ late consolation could not disguise a miserable afternoon for the visitors.
Bugiel opened the scoring after 12 minutes after Tommy Wright’s shot was blocked.
He made it two 10 minutes before the break following a swift counter-attack.
And Bugiel remained centre stage as he won the penalty from which he sealed his hat-trick in the 66th minute.
Jennings pulled one back for Wrexham a minute from time, but Sutton were already home and dry as they moved four points clear of the drop zone.
