Man City reportedly keen to bring Jadon Sancho back to the club

As per a report from the Sun, Premier League champions Manchester City are stepping up their efforts to bring Jadon Sancho back to the Etihad.

Sancho's meteoric rise

19-year-old winger Sancho proved one of the talking points of European football last season.

The English youngster, who made the move to Borussia Dortmund from Man City in the summer of 2017 for £8 million, built on the potential that he showcased at the Westfalenstadion in 2017/18 with a string of sensational displays over the course of the campaign.

The pace, trickery, eye for goal and creative flair possessed by Sancho have seen him rise from exciting but raw prospect to one of world football's most highly-regarded starlets.

In total, last season, the blistering wide-man racked up 13 goals and a hefty 19 assists across all competitions.

The early months of the new campaign, meanwhile, have seen Sancho's production reach even more impressive heights.

Despite it only being December, the English international has already notched 11 goals, to go along with 12 assists.

City keen

As such, Sancho's stellar form in Germany has inevitably seen the teen linked with a potential return to the Premier League.

The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been named as expressing an interest in the Dortmund starlet.

And, as per the aforementioned report from the Sun, another of English football's heavyweights have now joined the race for his signature.

The outfit in question? Sancho's former club, Manchester City.

It is claimed that the Sky Blues are 'stepping up their pursuit to get Jadon Sancho back from Borussia Dortmund.'

The board at the Etihad, meanwhile, feel that they are favourites to get a deal done, ahead of the likes of city rivals Man United.

Sancho is reportedly viewed as an ideal replacement for Leroy Sane, a known long-term target of German champions Bayern Munich.
