Keeper McMinn on target as Brechin sink Stirling

Goalkeeper Lewis McMinn got on the scoresheet as bottom club Brechin ended their six-match winless Ladbrokes League Two run with a 4-2 victory at Stirling.
McMinn’s long ball down field was left by a defender and bounced over his advancing opposite number Blair Currie’s head to make him the unlikely scorer of Brechin’s fourth.
The visitors had twice fallen behind before pulling clear in the second half thanks to goals from Paul McManus – his second of the match – and keeper McMinn.
Brechin are no closer to climbing off the foot of the table, however, after second-bottom Albion Rovers also won, beating Queen’s Park 2-0 at home to maintain their four-point cushion.
Liam Henderson scored twice as Edinburgh City narrowed the gap on leaders Cove Rangers with a 2-1 win in a top-of-the table clash at Ainslie Park.
Cove went to the capital with a five-point cushion at the summit but arrived on the back of a 6-1 defeat at Annan Athletic.
Their lead is now down to only two points after Henderson headed two goals in the opening 30 minutes, with Martin Scott’s 34th-minute bicycle kick the only response Cove could muster.
Cowdenbeath stay third after being held to a goalless draw by Elgin, while fourth-placed Annan followed up their demolition of Cove with a 2-1 win at Stenhousemuir.
