Dobbie’s double downs Dundee

Stephen Dobbie’s double condemned Dundee to a third straight Ladbrokes Championship defeat as Queen of the South triumphed 2-1 at Dens Park.
Jamie Ness saw two early attempts for Dundee blocked before Doonhamers striker Dobbie had an effort hooked out of the top corner.
The visiting captain had better luck in the 29th minute as he went past a couple of Dundee defenders before driving the ball into the net from distance.
Jack Hamilton did well to deny Darren Brownlie as Queens pushed for a second before half-time.
When play resumed, Kane Hemmings was foiled in his bid to equalise and Dobbie missed a chance to double the Doonhamers’ lead when heading just wide from a corner.
In stoppage time it looked like Dundee had forced a draw when Danny Johnson notched from outside the box, but veteran Dobbie was on hand to rescue the result with a right-footed finish at the death.
