Heroic Tottenham Ball Boy Reveals Jose Mourinho "Made My Life"

The Spurs ball boy who played a key role in the team's Champions League comeback against Olympiakos has said manager Jose Mourinho "made my life" in showering him with praise.

Callum Hynes was the man of the moment in the 4-2 victory on Tuesday night after his quick thinking helped Harry Kane and Spurs level matters in the 50th minute.

When the ball went out of play, the 15-year old wasted no time in feeding right-back Serge Aurier a second ball, allowing him to send Lucas Moura down the right.

Moura carried the ball before playing the back to Kane, who pulled Spurs level before they then went on to secure passage to the knockout stages.

Mourinho immediately made a beeline for Hynes by giving him a hug before commending his actions in his post-match press conference.

The youngster had to prepare for a maths exam the day after his assist but will never forget the special moment.

"Jose didn't have to do that. It was really nice of him to come over to me. It's made my day, my life, really!" Callum told the official Tottenham Hotspur website in his first interview following on from his heroics.

"I love Spurs and it was an amazing moment I'll never forget."

Hynes was so focused on doing his job in retrieving the ball and getting it back into play that he didn't even see Kane find the back of the net in real-time.

"It's all a bit surreal. I was just doing my job and I still can't quite believe what happened," he added.

"I didn't even see the goal! I was busy getting the ball that had come off and then I heard the cheer.

"I turned around and Harry was celebrating. I looked at the replay on the screen and watched exactly what happened.

"You can see from my smile it was just unbelievable."

Mourinho was a ball boy himself long before he became a serial winner in the dug-out and said the young lad reminded him of himself when he was pitchside as a kid.

"I love intelligent ball boys like I was. I was a brilliant ball boy as a kid...He reads the game, understands the game and made an important assist.

"He's not there just to look to the stands, lights or scarves. He's living the game and playing it very well."
