Morris and Madden fire Fleetwood past Tranmere

A goal in each half proved enough for Fleetwood as they eased to a 2-1 victory against Tranmere.
Josh Morris and Paddy Madden struck as the hosts secured their fourth win in five games in all competitions.
Morris’ free-kick had Fleetwood in front after only 15 minutes.
He curled high into the top corner after Jordan Rossiter had been tripped on the edge of the Rovers box.
Kyle Dempsey thought he had made it two when he converted Danny Andrew’s cross, but he was adjudged offside.
Rovers were unlucky when Manny Monthe’s goal-bound looping header was bundled off the line by Fleetwood full-back Andrew.
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy then nodded inches wide from substitute Corey Blackett-Taylor’s precise cross.
After the restart, the hosts went close when another sub, Ched Evans, volleyed into the side-netting after latching on to Morris’ lay-off.
Madden made it 2-0 with eight minutes left after Lewie Coyle’s cross was not cleared, before Rovers sub Paul Mullin ensured a tense finish as he touched home Cameron Borthwick-Jackson’s effort.
