Late Dean Moxey strike sinks Crawley

A late goal by skipper Dean Moxey gave Exeter their first league win in three games with a 1-0 Sky Bet League Two success at struggling Crawley.
Exeter boss Matt Taylor had made an impassioned plea for supporters to stick with his team after only one goal in their last two home games, and the travelling faithful witnessed a bright start by the Grecians.
Nicky Law put an early free-kick over for Exeter before Archie Collins should have hit the target after being set up by the recalled Nigel Atangana.
The Grecians threatened again when Lee Martin fired against the crossbar before top-scorer Bez Lubala shot just wide at the other end.
Crawley were fortunate when Law was slow to react after being set up in front of goal by Randell Williams, and Jack Sparkes put an angled shot over as Exeter finished the half on top.
The Reds came to life after the break with Lubala forcing goalkeeper Jonny Maxted to parry his goal-bound shot before Pierce Sweeney cleared a Tom Dallison header off the line.
Atangana shot wide sliding in for Exeter before Law had a shot blocked as Taylor’s men continued to create openings.
Moments after Crawley had a penalty appeal waved away after a Ben Seymour challenge on Dallison, Exeter clinched victory 12 minutes from time when Moxey fired his second goal of the season from a Williams corner.
