Liam Walsh’s strike will live long in the memory – Coventry boss Mark Robins

Coventry manager Mark Robins hailed Liam Walsh’s wondergoal which gave his side all three points in a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Rochdale.
The Sky Blues came back from 1-0 down, with Walsh’s 72nd-minute individual effort completing the turnaround.
Picking the ball up in his own half, a driving Walsh beat four Rochdale players before rifling an effort past Sanchez and into the top corner.
Robins said: “It’s goal of the season already.
“He picked it up on the halfway line and beat nearly every one of their players, some maybe twice!
“Then he had the presence of mind to hit a great shot from the edge of the box.
“That goal will live long in the memory of the Coventry supporters who were here and the ones who see it on TV.
“It was a bit of genius to go past people like that.
“They tried to take him out on four or five occasions. It was outstanding. It makes me smile just thinking about it.
“But this is our one of our biggest three points of the season because of the people we had missing. We had two young boys coming in for debuts and they did brilliantly.
“I can’t tell you how delighted I am with the three points and the performance.”
Rochdale took the lead through skipper skipper Ian Henderson in the 28th minute but Jordan Shipley equalised three minutes before half-time.
And Rochdale’s hopes of ending their three-match losing run in the league were ended by Walsh’s moment of magic.
Dale manager Brian Barry-Murphy said: “I was very pleased with a lot of aspects of that performance and I thought the lads implemented the game plan to a tee for large parts of the game – my judgement won’t be clouded by two pieces of quality from Coventry.
“I thought we controlled a Coventry team that play a possession-based game but we created chance after chance in the first half and the only problem was we didn’t take them.
“It was a brilliant move which lead to our goal, it was just rewards for the way we attacked Coventry and took the game to them. We tried to play on the front foot against a very good team.
“We can take a lot away from the performance.”
