Striker Ched Evans pleased with Fleetwood’s display at Barnet

Goalscorer Ched Evans hailed his Fleetwood team-mates for executing a perfect game plan after they comfortably overcame National League side Barnet 2-0 to reach the FA Cup second round.
In a game bereft of clear-cut opportunities, Evans gave the visitors the lead midway through the first half before Ash Hunter sealed the result late on.
Evans said: “We’ve worked all week on this game. We had a lot of information passed to us about them and we knew it wouldn’t be easy.
“The lads put on a good display, we were tough to break down and it was really pleasing to get the win.
“I just wandered into the box and I was pleased the ball fell to me. It was nice to see it hit the back of the net.”
Meanwhile, Barnet goalkeeper Scott Loach admitted his side were not at the races as they crashed out of the competition.
He said: “I’m disappointed. I had a lot of saves to make and I can’t really remember their keeper being tested.
“I think we were too nice. We’ve got to have a bit more grit about us if we want to succeed, but credit to Fleetwood, they came and did a job.”
