Cove Rangers left it late to extend their lead to five points at the top of Ladbrokes League Two.
Mitchell Megginson scored a penalty to give the leaders a 1-0 win over Stirling.
Megginson’s goal came two minutes from time after Paul McLean was penalised for handball.
Second-placed Edinburgh City lost ground after they had to come from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Elgin.
Kane Hester put the visitors ahead shortly before half-time, but Allan Smith secured a point for the hosts when he converted fellow substitute Blair Henderson’s pass with six minutes remaining.
Brechin remain rooted to the foot of the table after being thumped 5-2 at Queen’s Park.
Salim Kouider-Aisser and Calvin McGorry gave the hosts a 2-0 lead inside 15 minutes at Hampden Park.
Kouider-Aisser then conceded a penalty for handball, which Paul McManus converted after 22 minutes, but three minutes later Brechin conceded a spot-kick of their own and Joffrey Lidohren scored.
Cieran Summers and Kouider-Aisser added further gloss to the score, before Luke Watt’s consolation six minutes from time.
Kyle Wilkie’s 51st-minute header gave Annan Athletic a 1-0 win over third-placed Cowdenbeath, while Euan East and Giuliano Morena were on target for Albion in a 2-1 win over Stenhousemuir, who had replied through Mark McGuigan.
